Woy Woy Group

Woy Woy OWN was formed in September 1996 with the support of Gosford OWN and a small Area Assistance Grant. We are a small self-help group working together to promote the rights, dignity and wellbeing of older women. We try to present a positive image of older women, to enrich our lives through community involvement and to provide role models for the next generation. We want a better quality of life for all older women.

Our group meets at 10.15am on the first Wednesday of each month at the Woy Woy Leagues club. At our meetings, we have talks and discussions and plan social outings in response to the interests and wishes of our members. We try to organise discussions on issues such as health, finances, attitudes to older women, domestic violence and social isolation. We usually have lunch together following our meetings.
